About Me
Hi, I’m Sandra, the creator, writer, photographer, developer, and everything behind running Coitraveler. I write practical travel guides, help people plan trips they feel good about, and share tools for travelers who want to explore the world with more ease and confidence.
I’m based in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia area, and I usually fly out of BWI, DCA, IAD, or sometimes JFK. I’ve traveled to more than 28 countries by using quick weekend trips, longer PTO hacks, and flexible planning that helps me see a lot without feeling overwhelmed.
Coitraveler came from my early travel experiences, my Nigerian upbringing, and the excitement I felt on my first few trips. I wanted a space that made travel feel simple, possible, and welcoming, especially for new travelers, women traveling alone, and people who want to maximize their time and budget.
COI stands for Carry-On Included. It started with my love for traveling light and staying flexible, but over time it turned into a larger message about making travel feel easy, doable, and accessible. You don’t need a lot to see the world. You just need the right tools, a plan that makes sense for you, and the confidence to go.
Through Coitraveler, I create:
- Travel guides for first-timers, solo travelers, and group trips
- Step-by-step itineraries you can pull up on the go
- Hotel, resort, and experience reviews
- Content for female travelers, moms, and people exploring remote work
- Press-supported travel commentary featured in major media outlets
My commentary has been featured in AFAR, Forbes, Fox News, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, The Independent (UK), Adventure Nannies, TravelMint, and a number of podcasts and video interviews where I talk about safety, budgeting, and my approach to quick and flexible travel.
Travel changed my perspective and helped me grow in ways I didn’t expect. I share my travels so others can feel supported, informed, and encouraged to explore more. Every guide and itinerary is based on real experiences and the same tools I use when planning my own trips.
If you’re planning a trip, starting your creator journey, or looking for brand collaborations, I’d love to hear from you.
