Your journey begins from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), the main entry into Kenya. Depending on your arrival time, you can start exploring right away. Alternatively, you can also choose to relax before diving into the itinerary I put together for you below.
Nairobi has amazing weather, ranging from warm sunny days to cool evenings, so it’s ideal for outdoor adventurers. Start your trip with a stop at Nairobi National Park. See the unique wildlife reserve just outside the city. You should definitely stop at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to see rescued elephants. Also, plan a visit to the Giraffe Center.
Enjoy a day at the Karen Blixen Museum. For food lovers, Nairobi’s dining scene offers everything from traditional cuisine to international options.

Nairobi 4 Day Itinerary

First Day: Arrival and City Tour
- Arrive in Nairobi and check into your hotel.
- Begin your city tour by visiting the Karen Blixen Museum, the former home of the author of “Out of Africa.”
- Next, visit the Giraffe Centre, where you can get up close and personal with endangered Rothschild’s giraffes and feed them.
- Have lunch at the nearby Tamambo Karen Blixen Coffee Garden, which offers delicious Kenyan cuisine in a peaceful garden setting.
- After lunch, visit the Nairobi National Museum to learn about Kenya’s history and culture.
- End the day with a visit to the bustling Maasai Market to shop for local crafts and souvenirs.
Second Day: Nature and Wildlife
- Start the day early with a visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. There, you can see orphaned elephants and rhinos being cared for and rehabilitated.
- Afterward, head to the Nairobi Safari Walk to see some of Kenya’s wildlife up close, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards.
- Have lunch at Carnivore, a famous restaurant where you can try a variety of grilled meats, including game meat.
- In the afternoon, visit Nairobi National Park for a game drive. You will see animals like zebras, giraffes, and buffaloes against the backdrop of the Nairobi skyline.
- End the day with a sunset cocktail at the iconic rooftop bar at Sarova Stanley hotel.
Third and Fourth Day: Cultural Experiences
- Start the day with a visit to the Bomas of Kenya. There, you can experience traditional Kenyan music. Enjoy the dance and cultural performances.
- Have lunch at the Talisman restaurant, which combines African and European cuisine in a tranquil garden setting.
- In the afternoon, visit the Kazuri Beads Factory to see how local women make and paint handmade ceramic beads.
- End the day with a visit to the Kenyatta International Convention Centre. Its top-floor observation deck offers panoramic views of Nairobi.
